Halloween Hot Dog Mummies

There's plenty of spooky Halloween sweet treats out there, but with all the candy it's nice to have a savory option as well. These Halloween Hot Dog Mummies can be made with gluten free, whole wheat, or vegetable pasta you like, which makes them easy to modify for dietary restrictions or preferences. 

Hot Dog Mummies

Ingredients:
 10 mini hot dogs
 5 oz tagliatelle
 5 tbsp mascarpone cheese
 2 tbsp ketchup
 1 tsp mustard
 dry black olives (for decoration)
 salt

First, cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Then, drain and set aside. Meanwhile, mix the mascarpone cheese with ketchup and mustard, along with a bit of salt and pepper.

Cook the hot dogs by boiling them. When done drain, and leave them to cool down.

Place each of the hot dogs onto the top of the screw, then spread the mascarpone cheese evenly all over it. Using the tagliatelle, wrap the pasta around the hot dogs so they look like mummies, leaving the small space near the top to place the eyes.

For the eyes cut small pieces of black olives and "glue" them to the mascarpone cheese, in the space between the tagliatelle. Serve with ketchup, marinara, or other favorite dip.
