Cajun Blackened Shrimp Pasta will transport you to the banks of the Mississippi, listening to jazz in a small New Orleans cafe. No? Just me? Regardless of if this dish whisks you away to the Bayou, it will put a smile on your face and asking for seconds.
Cajun Blackened Shrimp Pasta is spicy, filling, and a fun departure from traditional Italian pasta. Add in some in-season veggies or andouille sausage and you just saved yourself a flight to Louisiana.
Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
While the pasta is cooking season the shrimp with blackened spices on all sides. Then in a heavy skillet, heat oil over medium heat, and saute the shrimp for about 3 -5 minutes or until done. Remove from pan and set aside.
Into the same pan, add onion, tomatoes, and garlic. Stir for couple of minutes, until the onion starts to be translucent and then add thyme, blackened spice, paprika, bell pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and the chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Finally, combine the pasta with sauce, toss and serve with blackened shrimp.
