This is a recipe for a classic creamy side dish and is reminiscent to a famous steakhouse version you may be familiar with. That being said, this goes phenomenally with a steak dinner and some mashed potatoes. Creamed spinach is easy and quick to prepare and is a must-have recipe for any chef's arsenal.
Inspired by Paula Deen
Boil water in a saucepan. When the spinach starts to wilt, drain it and finely chop.
In a medium saute pan over medium-high heat, melt 1 tbsp butter and then add the olive oil. Mix in the onions and garlic; cook until soft. Add the chopped spinach and warm through. Add the salt, pepper, nutmeg and the heavy cream. Mix well.
In the already prepared sauce, add the spinach. Stir to combine 3 to 4 minutes.
