Philly Cheesesteak Bites

You might not be able to hop a flight to Philly, but you CAN make Philly Cheesesteak Bites at home with the same great flavors. What's great about this recipe is that you can customize it for your personal tastes. If you don't like onion, you can always leave them out. These are great for a tailgate or football watch party, but don't limit yourself, make these for dinner too!

Ingredients:
 1 green bell pepper, diced
 ½ onion, diced
 2 tbsp butter
 5 oz sirloin, thinly sliced
 12 Provolone or American cheese
 2 sheets puff pastry
 ¼ cup olive oil
 1 tsp cornstarch
 1 egg yolk, beaten
 salt
 pepper
Directions:

On medium heat, brown the beef with 1 tbsp butter and season with salt and pepper. Add cornstarch and 1 cup of water and let it cook for 20 minutes on low heat to soften the beef. When done set aside.

Cook the diced bell peppers and onions over medium heat with 1 tbsp butter until onions are browned and the peppers are softened. Season with salt and pepper. Meanwhile, cut each slice of Provolone or American cheese into 4 pieces.

Preheat the oven to 400 F

Roll out the crescent roll dough and cut each sheet into 6 equal pieces. Then, put 2 pieces of cheese onto each piece of pastry. Top with 1 tbsp of the onion and green pepper mix, add 1 tbsp roast beef. After that, put 2 pieces of cheese on the beef.

Gather the edges of the dough around the toppings and pinch to seal. Place sealed bites in a greased, round baking dish with the seams down and brush the tops with olive oil and egg yolk. Optional: sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Bake for 20 minutes.
