Spaghetti Quiche

This recipe was inspired by my refusal to throw away leftovers. Quiche is usually my go-to for transforming leftovers into an incredible breakfast and by adding leftover spaghetti the dish becomes easier to make (no pesky pastry crust!) and heartier. Otherwise, this dish is a blank canvas for whatever you have in your fridge.  Leftover green onions? Throw them in there! Leftover sausage from dinner last night? What could be better! Seriously, go crazy with this and it will not disappoint.

Ingredients:
 1 lb spaghetti
 2 cups jarred marinara sauce
 ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
 1 tbsp butter
for the quiche:
 6 eggs
 ½ cup whole milk
 ½ cup heavy cream
 3 tbsp butter
 ¼ cup basil, chopped
 salt
 pepper
Directions:
1

Preheat oven to 375 F. Then, brush oven-safe skillet with butter and set aside until needed.

2

Next, cook the spaghetti, according to the package instructions. When done, drain and return to the pot. If you are using leftover spaghetti, skip this step.

3

Then add 1 tbsp of the butter and stir till melted. Further, add the marinara sauce and the Parmesan, stir to combine. When fully combined, transfer the spaghetti to the prepared baking dish.

4

After that, whisk eggs, heavy cream, milk, butter, basil, salt and pepper in a bowl. Pour the mixture over the spaghetti. (At this moment, you can add any kind of topping you like, vegetables, bacon, cheese...)

5

Transfer it to the oven and bake for 35 minutes. Then, turn the broiler on, and heat the quiche until golden on top.
